BRIEF
When we think of wonder, we are used to imagining it as something imposing, like the 7 wonders of the world: enormous monuments, created in totally different eras from ours, where technologies were not as developed as they are now, but everything was conceivable and achievable. Today we are no longer surprised by this kind of project, or rather, we no longer do it as we used to. Now we marvel at small gestures, objects or everyday situations that could have been normal in other eras: for example exchanging letters to maintain relationships, going out for dinner with friends or having an healthy conversation with a person.
CONCEPT / WHAT IS REGULA?
Regula is a lamp that modulates the light intensity according to the noise level present in a space. Three elements in perfect balance, which support each other. Does disturbance overlap with harmony? Then the light will invade the room. In an age where noise has become a constant companion in our lives, Regula takes on the role of a gentle judge, prompting us to reflect on our relationships with others and the quality of our dialogues.
PROTOTYPE
Made in ceramic with a height of 30cm and a width of 21cm. Inside the bowl there are an Arduino Uno and an amplified microphone (connected to the analog pin). Outside, placed on the cover cap, there is a ring led. The way it works is that as the noise in the room increases, the luminous intensity of the ring LED increases accordingly.
